Rules & Regulations ⚖️

Guidelines for listing startups and participating in voting on Afrolaunch.

Welcome to Afrolaunch. To ensure a fair, transparent, and high-quality platform that genuinely curates and showcases the best of African innovation, we enforce strict rules regarding startup listings and community voting.

1. Startup Listing Rules

To list your startup on Afrolaunch, it must meet the following criteria:

  • African Innovation: The startup must be operating in, founded in, or primarily targeting the African continent.
  • Active Status: The startup must be currently active and have a working product, service, or a functional website/landing page. Stub sites, template page holders, or non-functional concepts will be disabled.
  • Information Integrity: All listed data-including descriptions, tags, founder information, and links-must be authentic and up to date. Misleading information is grounds for immediate disabling.
  • Authorization: Submissions should be made by a founder, verified team member, or authorized representative of the startup.

2. Voting and Upvoting Rules

We pride ourselves on community-driven validation. Upvotes must represent real interest from genuine users:

  • No Gaming: Using automated scripts, bots, software, click farms, or coordinate vote manipulation is strictly prohibited.
  • No Spamming: Generating temporary or fake accounts, using disposable email address providers, or offering direct compensation/incentives for upvotes is forbidden.
  • Genuine Votes: Users must register and verify their accounts through approved authentication channels (e.g., Google login) to cast their upvote.

3. Enforcement & Reservation of Rights

We reserve the right to remove any spammed upvotes or disable any startup listed with violations.

Failure to follow these rules will lead to enforcement actions, which may include:

  • Immediate subtraction of suspicious or spammed upvotes.
  • Temporary suspension or permanent disabling of the offending startup's listing.
  • Restricting or banning offending user accounts.

4. Reporting Violations

If you witness suspicious activity, voting manipulation, or a listing that violates these terms, please contact us immediately so we can preserve the integrity of our platform.
